We hope you will join us on Saturday, August 24th for a fun (and free!) social gathering with your fellow Democrats! (Adults only, please.) The evening will feature a showing of the new eye-opening Netflix documentary, “The Great Hack,” to be followed by lively conversation. (Is there any other kind?!)
Doors open at 5:00PM. If you plan to join us, please arrive between 5:00PM and 5:30PM so that the food can be set up before the movie starts. We will start the (1 hr 54 min) movie at 5:45PM. You are, of course, welcome to get up and eat/drink/graze/etc. during the show. We will wrap discussion by 8:45PM (needing to be cleaned up and out the door by 9:00PM!)
We ask that you bring a potluck side dish or dessert (with its serving utensil) or beverages. (You are welcome to BYOB!)

Join the Forsyth County Georgia Democratic Party and National African American Gun Association as we present our Firearm Safety & Training Event. The event consists of two parts with the first one being open to all at no charge. The second will be limited to 20 participants. The full details continue below.
We're very pleased to offer comprehensive firearm training to the community on Saturday, August 3, 2019 beginning at 9 AM. The National African American Gun Association will teach about the safe operations and marksmanship basics of standard caliber handguns. Handouts and video presentation will be included in the training, which runs until 11 AM.
After a lunch break (with food provided) from 11 AM until Noon, our range session will begin. Range Safety Officers (RSOs) will be along side participants as they engage in firearm shooting practice at the VFW's range. If you do not have a handgun, the RSOs will have them available for use. For proper training and safety, we are limiting the range session to 20 participants with a nominal fee to cover items including ear & eye protection as well as ammunition. A link to the signup for that portion of the event and pricing will be available shortly.

Join us for our planning session as we further develop our 2019-2020 strategic plan. We'll brainstorm and ready several portions of the plan during our meeting. All from our community are welcome and we are actively looking for your ideas and feedback. Core areas of conversation include the following: Fundraising, candidate recruitment, candidate training, community involvement, and an office are core components of our plan.
Snacks and beverages will be served. While the event runs from 10-2, any time that you can spend with us would be wonderful.
On February 15th, join the Forsyth County Democratic Party as we tour the Georgia State Capitol and visit the National Center for Civil and Human Rights!
At 11:30 am, we welcome you and your entire family to join us as we enter the people's building and tour the capitol. Come see democracy in action, stop by legislative offices, and spend time with our growing community!
After our capitol visit, we have a tour scheduled for the National Center for Civil and Human Rights at 2 pm. Museum admission cost is waived! These tickets are regularly $17.99-$19.99!
Forsyth County Schools will be closed, so we have a wonderful date that the entire family can enjoy.

The Reapportionment Committee in Georgia's House and Senate determine what if any redistricting happens. In the past this committee has had a free reign to re-draw district lines without anyone noticing. Not any more.
Join a group of concerned citizens in writing postcards to all legislators on the Reapportionment Committee. We will send a clear statement: We are watching you.
MLK Jr. Day of Service Event at Sawnee Elementary School
We will be working on their garden if weather permits. Please bring any supplies if you have them (i.e. gloves, shovels, etc). If we cannot work outside, we will assist with indoor projects. All are welcomed to join us.
Meeting will be at Provino's Italian Restaurant located at 1610 Market Place Blvd, Cumming, GA 30041. Guest speakers will be Sarah Riggs Amico (former Lt. Governor candidate) and Daniel Blackman. Sarah will speak about the election and actions going forward. Daniel will address the general body about why he is running for Chair of the Georgia Democratic Party. In keeping with tradition, we will have our holiday party the night of our December meeting. The party will take place on December 18th at the Bethelview Downs Clubhouse, located at 6280 Turfway Drive, Cumming, GA 30040. The party will take place from 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM.
This is a potluck event. We ask that attendees bring their favorite dish/drinks/desserts to share. Also a few dollars donated to the party would be greatly appreciated.
